Spring is slowly awakening and this class was all about giving support to your Liver and Gallbladder to make a smooth transition from winter and the water phase into spring and the wood phase.

Sequence:

  • savasana scan and intro talk about qi and nature

  • seiza toe tuck to stimulate the toe joints where you have many acu points beginning + the sole of the foot where you have kidney 1 acu point (still working with a bit of water energies)

  • ankle stretch

  • acupressure Liver 3

  • yin pose to target adductors for liver and kidney work: chose between dragonfly seated or wall, frog or other adductor pose

  • sleeping swan to target gallbladder channel

  • sphinx, with extra pressure on the kidneys the last minute - through seal pose

  • twisted roots

  • “active savasana” with block under the base of your skull to work with acupressure on gallbladder 20 and bladder 10

Liver 3 - TÀICHŌNG Great Rushing 太沖

Spreads Liver qi, nourishes Liver blood and Liver yin, clears the head and eyes, regulates menstruation, and is used for example headache, dizziness, and hypertension. But most of all, in class, we work with this point to support the Liver in its job to control the smooth flow of qi in the body. And to calm emotions and stress.

Gallbladder 20 - FĒNGCHÍ Wind Pool 風池

Eliminates wind, benefits the head and eyes, activates the channel and alleviates pain. Great for headache, dizziness, visual dizziness, hypertension, insomnia, just to mention a few great things. In class, to work with opening up the flow of the channel, to prevent headache due to tension in the neck, and to calm emotions and stress.
